I've been a freelance designer since 2003, when I left my role as Senior Designer at design and elearning agency CNDL Group in Truro, Cornwall. Before that I worked in the automotive industry as an illustrator. I enjoy bringing my wide-ranging expertise and expertise to a project and the balancing, mixing up and wrangling its creative and technical aspects.

As well as extensive experience in traditional graphic design disciplines, I have a great deal of experience in elearning, Flash animation and interaction, motion graphics, video, game design (Flash and Unity) and digital illustration methods – whether raster, vector or montage. I'm a decent photographer but a masterful retoucher.

I've been working on web and rich media projects pretty much since the technologies involved came about, as well as, at the same time, working in traditional graphic design roles developing identities and designing and laying out printed materials.

It's always my aim – and hope – that my next piece of work will be the best piece I've done to date. As a designer, I don't believe a project's scale determines the amount of care and attention it should receive. Freelancing suits me: I enjoy learning new subjects, meeting and working with new people and keeping things moving. I like to be focused and busy. I love Fridays and Mondays. If pressed to, I would describe myself as hard working, conscientious, meticulous and resiliently good-humoured under pressure.

I have a thorough understanding of marketing and project management, whether agile or waterfall (my partner is a fellow creative who is also a digital projects manager and chartered marketer).

I've also taught and mentored design and artworking in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign at Cornwall College, University College Falmouth and on the Unlocking Potential project in Cornwall.

I am married with two children and an RSPCA rescue dog, and own a house that I like to practice DIY on. I'm a reformed road and mountain bike racer – I just ride for pleasure these days. A School PTA member, Elle Decoration subscriber, coffee over-consumer, avoider of cliché and a bit prone to making bad puns at inappropriate moments.

I have Instagram and Tumblr accounts where I post some bits of work in progress stuff and the photos and images that I've created on my phone.

There is *no way* you're going to see my Twitter feed unless we become very close friends indeed. ;)
